![]() For all these reasons, was developed a digital library for the International Vision University in this study. In digital libraries, can be done very long operations with one click, the margin of error decreases, and the number of employees in the library is also reduced. Today, libraries such as school libraries, public libraries, private libraries, hospital libraries represent digital libraries. In the digitalizing world, it is inevitable for libraries to be digital. The system was developed using the following technologies: Java JavaScript HTML CSS Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.2 HTTP Server LDAP Server IBM WebSphere Portal Enable Processor Value Unit IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition Processor Value Unit IBM Rational Software Architect for WebSphere Authorized User Oracle Database Enterprise Edition Documentum Platform Bundle EMC Documentum Custom Client IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition 9.7.0.9. The main stakeholders of the developed Library System are the employees of the Library, students, and professors of the university. The described information system is web-based and is one of the most important systems in the university. In this article we are describing the architecture and design of the Library Information system that was built for the automation of library processes (ordering, picking, cataloging, electronic catalog, book search, reservation of small-copy books, inventory of books/electronic media, booking and viewing of electronic publications), as well as providing readers with access to the electronic catalog, to printed and other documents of the University with electronic documents, video, audio and other information attached to bibliographic records. The Library Information System was built in-house for the university. Fully reflects the feasibility of the subject of this article. The module is 4.8% higher, and the recommended classic book module is 5.8% higher. Experimental research shows that compared with the traditional university library management service system, the university library management service system based on data mining technology studied in this paper is 5.9% higher in the new book recommendation module, 11.4% higher in the resource link module, and course reference book recommendation. This article systematically expounds the composition and design of the library management service system based on data mining and other technologies, and uses comparative analysis and observation methods to study the subject of this article. On this basis, data mining and other technologies are used for application research. Combining with the current situation of university library management in our country, analyze the existing problems and shortcomings. This article first summarizes the basic theory of big data, and then extends its core technologies such as data mining. Based on this, the purpose of this article is to study the application of big data technology in university library management services. This is also a service currently being carried out by various university libraries in our country. In order to better manage university libraries and provide readers with better services, it is necessary to vigorously develop personalized information services. Considering that more functionality could be added to the system, it is recommended future development of similar systems or a higher version should implement barcode scanning feature, provide for automatic notification through SMS or USSD technology.Īt present, the amount of information stored in university libraries is increasing, and readers’ needs for information and document types are becoming more and more detailed, personalized and complex. ![]() Librarians are able to view issued and returned book and also use the system to payments for late returned or lost books. They can recommend / suggest missing books by using the system suggestion tool. ![]() The system also allows for users search for books and renews books online. The developed system allows for add/update of library users and resources including books. ![]() The population consisted of librarians, the library users and stakeholders. In order to achieve the project aim, the developers applied the prototype methodology and conducted semi structured interviews gather user requirements from the project population. Applying the prototype methodology, this project developed an automated management system for the Greenwell Matongo Community library in Namibia. An automated Library management information system is a library system that automates the manual library system to assist librarians in managing a library.
